The Sabi Sabi Selati Camp is located in the world-renowned Sabi Sand Game Reserve in the southern section of the Kruger National Park. An open concession to the world famous Kruger National Park where animals can roam freely between these conservation areas. When guests visit this beautiful camp they can look forward to first class game viewing in an area where animals on the Reserve have not been hunted for over half a century.
Sabi Sabi Selati Camp offers guests eight luxury thatched suites, each suite with a full bathroom en-suite and private outdoor showers. All meals are served on decks built over the river-bed, in the open air “boma” or in the “farmhouse kitchen”. Originally created without electricity to preserve the ambience, Selati Camp now has overhead fans and air-conditioning for the comfort of all guests, while the camp is still lit at night by the gentle flicker of oil lamps to preserve that “bygone” era. The lodge also offers other elegant facilities like a dining veranda, full bar facilities, a lounge, swimming pool, Television in the lounge and telephone facilities.
Sabi Sabi Selati Camp offers an outstanding big five safari experience in the Private Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Expert wildlife rangers and trackers accompany guests on safari in open 4×4 land rovers, both, day and night as well as on walking trails through the natural bush, teaching guests all about the 300 different bird species and 200 animal species, including lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo, elephant and cheetah, tracked and followed off-road, deep into the African bushveld.
The advantage of Sabi Sabi, stems from the fact that animals on the Reserve have not been hunted for over half a century. Because they have become habituated to human activities, they perceive the outline of a vehicle carrying humans as non-threatening. Guests can therefore look forward to the unique experience of being driven unbelievably close to the large mammals which, despite being totally wild, continue undisturbed in their natural behaviour.
