Crawford’s Beach Lodge in Cintsa East, set along the magical Wild Coast in the Eastern Cape, offers guests luxury accommodation for the most discerning of travellers to the Wild Coast. Crawford’s is nestled in the middle of the beautiful Chintsa Bay, surrounded by rolling hills, lush tropical beach forests and overlooks the warm Indian Ocean. Crawford’s Beach Lodge is approximately 42km East of East London in the small village of Cintsa East.
The accommodation we stayed in at Crawford’s beach lodge was fantastic, we stayed in their front sea view luxury suites, and we had our own private balcony which overlooked the beautiful beach and Indian Ocean. The suites are fully equipped with bar fridges, DSTV, coffee and tea making facilities and air conditioning or fans together with fully equipped kitchenettes.
The bar and restaurant is where our dinner was enjoyed on the night of our visit. We had the opportunity to get acquainted with our fellow guests in their lounge, having a drink in the bar or merely floating around the lawn under the tropical Khamanga palms. Crawford’s pride themselves with the cuisine they have on offer; delicious and nutritious homemade meals served as a buffet style. All meals are served in the main dining room overlooking the sea, offering fine dining with a wide variety of excellent food.
When staying at Crawford’s Beach Lodge guests have a veriety of activities to enjoy in and around Cintsa East. Activities can include Thai Spa Treatments, Horse riding, mountain biking, tennis, beach trails, surf lessons, cultural visits, Big 5 safaris, Elephant interactions, Art studios, deep sea fishing and one can even visit a home brewery. This region is truely the begining of the Wild Coast and certainly part of the Adventure Province Eastern Cape.
As one enters the stylishly designed bedroom with its amazing view of the Indian Ocean, they will become hypnotised by the sound of the waves and smell of the freshest air. The king or queen sized beds will please the tired traveller and leave them feeling rejuvenated after their first nights peaceful sleep.
Each luxury suite has an en-suite bathroom, giving one privacy while still being a part of the festivities as you can witness all the happenings from your personal balcony. The rooms are spacious and have their own separate entrances. Lodge offers 30 suites which consist of double and twin bedrooms, all en-suite and each with there own private balcony, with a majority of them overlooking the sea. The suites are fully equipped with bar fridge, DSTV, coffee and tea making facilities, with air conditioning or fans and fully equipped kitchenettes. All rooms are also equipped with a safe for your personal belongings.
With the lodge being so close to ocean, one does not need to drive anywhere. All attractions are within a few steps of one another, the dining room, the lounge and the beach. After a day at the beach, one can wash themselves off under the outside shower or take a dip in the pool to cool off. So get ready to take your shoes off and prepare to relax in the most beautiful setting.
